GMC always has surprises up its sleeve – and the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is no exception. This pickup will feature the all-new Perimeter Lighting System, an innovative way to get the job done.
What is it?
The Perimeter Lighting System is an in-bed lighting system that provides an all-day and all-night workspace in the bed of your truck or around you. This new system makes setting up campsites, packing away a worksite, or changing a tire on a dark night much easier.
How is it different?
This lighting system is more advanced than previous lighting systems used by GMC, which typically only offered in-bed lighting. Perimeter Lighting, however, will feature eight different lights on all parts of the truck, including above the truck’s rear glass, at the front of its side mirrors, on the rear corners of the bed, and on the tailgate handle. The idea is to create a “perimeter” of light that makes it easy to access any part of your vehicle with improved illumination.
The lighting is also expected to be LED, which is more efficient and more powerful than standard lighting.
